Ubiquitous Sunday Post
despite not accomplishing the painting task … again … this weekend was ideal. friday night, we had sushi at Kisako where the fish is always very, very fresh. for once, i was tempted to order some espresso mochi for desert but the service was so slow we decided to pass. instead we stopped at my sister and Heff’s place for some conversation and a drink.
Saturday was dedicated to running errands to enable our Sunday plan, which was to stay indoors all day and do next to nothing. we stopped at Outdoor & More to pick out a new winter coat for Mark, bought some tools at the Seattle Restaurant Store (a commercial store open to the public) and hit the grocery store for supplies. that night we met the Jefes and Mark and Bebeth, yet another asian/white couple. i swear we looked like a Benetton commercial. we bowled and generally sucked it up, with the exception of my sister who managed to bowl a 175! after many drinks, we stopped at the Viking on the way home to check out the newly added cocktails. i have to say, they were poured just the way they should be and it was exactly what we would have expected from this neighborhood bar.
Sunday arrived with lazy coffee and breakfast. we had plans to go the dog park (sorry!) but couldn’t drag our tails outside. instead i made stock pretty much all day, watched A Home At The End Of The World and lazed about in front of the fireplace. have you seen this movie? at one point i had to ask Mark for clarification. ‘is that the same Colin Farrell that starred in Phone Booth?’ there were some really good moments but it was also a little choppy. and the stock seemed to turn out very well. my plan was to make things as simple as possible on Thursday. i have lots of cooking and prep work to do this week.
good night all.
