No music news today. Not that there has been much news of any kind lately. Instead, I’ve been crafty.

The other day I had another meandering, energizing conversation with my friend Jessica. It involved the topic of knitting, something we both enjoy doing. First, some background. Jess is one of my closest friends and has been so from the day I met her. One of the interesting things about our relationship is the fact that we’re complete opposites. The knitting conversation serves as a prime example:

Jess: Have you been knitting? I’ve been working on something for my grandfather.
Me: Oh really? What is it?
Jess: It’s a prayer shawl that I’m going to have blessed by our priest for him. What are you working on?
Me: A black sweater with big skulls on each arm.
Jess: Oh.
(conversation followed by hysterical laughter)

It just goes to show that you can never judge a book by its cover, now doesn’t it?
