Music Is My Religion

Posted on Friday, April 23, 2004 in sonica

despite my last crappy post, things are looking up. a whole string of happy things has happened to me as of late:

- we are now one week from closing on our house. this means that all of the paperwork, faxing and money scraping has all but finished and we are ready to concentrate on getting the hell out of dodge. i may be forced to post an open letter to this disappointing apartment just to exercise my demons.

- the best thing ever happened today! some of my friends tease me about people not reading my site. about my hits potentially being crawlers, but i don’t care. i don’t post to this site for hits. i do it because i like it and i like catching up with friends through it. well, awhile back i had a post about my former new favorite band Eskimohunter and the former new favorite CD, the split 7 inch they did with another fantastic band called the Coco B’s and totally unexpected i received a nice email from Bob Penn of the Coco B’s thanking me for the mention on the site. this was very, very cool. and now this morning i got an email from Ej Hagen of one of my new favorite bands Highspire which was just the thing to restore my faith in humanity. perhaps i’m exaggerating. but what i mean to say is that it was nice of him to take the time to drop me a line. see Mark, someone is reading my blog other than my 5 blog friends!

- speaking of my 5 blog friends (okay maybe there are more than 5), today i also received the latest mix from La Luna which fed my two loves: mail and music. he continues to treat me like a star even through i have not sent the book i illustrated for him for his birthday (months ago). and then Ms. Manda-pants herself offered me SHOES and to help out at my yard sale. how much better than that does it get? (okay so Lane insulted me about hockey, i can only say that he is a bitter, bitter, teeny-weeny man … with a really cute baby).

- and next, i helped a friend with some marketing and website design that he otherwise might have paid for. he was very grateful and appreciative and that made me feel good. he’s a long time friend of mine and it was lovely to be able to help him out.

and then last of all, i came home to my boy and my pup and smooched them both. that my friends, was the best medicine of all. ahhh (said in thirst quenching kind of way).

  1. Isn’t is cool the way Typepad is so well represnted on search engines that you can get all that extra traffic! Actually, I found your blog on the “recently updated” list.

  2. with my team down 2-0 and yours even but looking good, i don’t think i’ll be insulting you about hockey any longer.
