Milestones

the big move is complete. we are pretty much settled in and have already had our share of adventures. during the move, Primo escaped and pranced around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes until he finally succumbed to Mark and was reeled in like a fish. when we arrived at the house, he charged right into it. we let him out into his new yard and when i called him he came running full force, hit the deck and slid across narrowly missing a face plant into the windows. just yesterday, he chased the neighbors cat high into one of our trees and we spent a good part of this afternoon with the kids next door trying to coax her out. i’m looking forward to many more stories to come.

the house is amazing. the yard is amazing. words cannot do it justice. it’s so very peaceful sitting on the deck watching the stellar jays glide from tree to tree. our bedroom is so quiet at night and the air here is much healthier (better ventilation and lack of mold i suppose). i can scarcely remember the heinous apartment. it seems like a bad dream. with the exception of the sofa not fitting in the house (something we expected) everything has gone smoothly. this weekend will be spent shopping for a replacement sofa and drinking champagne outside. the people we bought the house from were kind enough to leave a congratulatory bottle of champagne and a card full of well wishes in our refrigerator. how sweet is that?
