I Heart Murakami
in case you haven’t noticed, i LOVE Murakami. and i’m not talking about Ryu Murakami either. never again will i succumb to the bookshelf neighbor of Haruki. i read Coin Locker Babies out of needing a fix for new Murakami, any Murakami. let me tell you, ain’t nothing like the real thing baby.
and now he finally, finally has a website which in my humble opinion is fantastic! rather than just bland biographic information and a bibliography, there is are sections on translation, art and best of all: music. the site contains a listing of music as it appears in each of the books. this is something i’d always meant to keep a running tab of but never had gotten around to it. his use of each of those songs plays an important role in all of his stories and i’m sure that hearing those i never have will paint even more of the picture.
really, you should check it out. i’m just taking a break, but right after i’m done with this post i’m going to tab right back over to Camino and continue reading (i’m mad at Safari and Apple in general).
oh and ps, a little birdie told me there are boatloads of Tom Waits live mp3s here. they even have that new mp3 smell.
