I Am Tired

i had no idea i would be so busily consumed with this nesting business. i am not usually the type who is in to decorating and that sort of thing. i can’t ever figure out where furniture should be placed, where a picture should be hung, what colors to paint the walls. my creative energy has always been channeled to different places (I love to cook!) such as technology, art and writing.

so anyway, here i am in the midst of the i-need-this … we-need-that mode of owning a new home. there are seemingly hundreds of little tasks to complete and most of them require spending money. on Saturday, we purchased a new dining room table. after a depressing trip to Mc Kinnon Furniture where we loved everything, but had the budget for nothing, we headed down to the clearance center for a local department store. all in all, i am pretty happy with a reasonable purchase that saved us about $700. now we just need to find suitable chairs and … er, a sofa. in case you hadn’t heard, our sofa did not fit into the new house. it was not a shock. but we had been hoping that by some small miracle it would. alas, we will be searching for a new sofa next weekend.

all in all, i am exhausted! all i really want to do is lay on the bed and read. i would prefer not to buy a lawnmower and instead purchase the oodles of new music that is waiting to be purchased. at least i forgot about the M83 CD and rediscovered it as if it was brand new. so there was something good about packing!

  1. ikea?

  2. that may be where we head for the chairs! i’ve made a personal rule though not to buy a sofa or anything big there. we had a dresser from there that totally fell apart.
