Graham Coxon Is My Hero
Back from a rather long day at work with the highlight definitely being the Graham Coxon in-studio over at KEXP. He’s so damn cool in a way only a British boy can be. His four song set included: Latte (from The Kiss of Morning), Life It Sucks (from the Spectacular single), Freakin’ Out and All Over Me from his latest Happiness In Magazines. It could just be my perception, but of all the in-studios I’ve seen this was the one I definitely felt a little starstruck for. I’ve been a fan of Blur for forever and while I haven’t always enjoyed Graham’s solo stuff, I LOVE this album. The in-studio will be up in the program archive in a couple of days, so check back. Unless of course you aren’t a fan in which case, I’m not sure how we’re still friends!
Other notable new releases yesterday:
} Decemberists Picaresque
} Queens of the Stone Age Lullabies to Paralyze
} M.I.A. Arular: This release has had so much expectation and hype. The sound is so polarizing, it will be interesting to see how it does and how it’s followed up.
} Aqualung Strange & Beautiful
} Bloc Party Silent Alarm
} Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds B-Sides & Rarities 3 CD-set
} Brendan Benson The Alternative To Love
Happy listening!
