Good Times For A Change
time again for me to change up the canned color scheme of this site. plowing through a book on PHP, Apache and MySQL that i am really enjoying. once we are settled in at the house, i am going to be trying my hand at a little PHP.
and speaking of change, on a more girly note, i am getting my hair cut next week. it is long overdue. in fact it’s at the point where i’m looking more like a drowned cat than anything else. thanks to the generous gift certificate from M and T, i will be aiming for something like the pic to the right. we’ll see though, my hair is notoriously hard to lift color from. isn’t this fascinating conversation?
well at any rate, i get to close the day with a terribly sweet and thoughtful email sent from my friend Brian. it was a nice surprise (not that he wrote it, just that i received it today) to close a rainy, gray day in Seattle. incidentally, my favorite kind of day. mail and spring showers. i just need a coffee and i could live like this forever.
Good Times For A Change
i have been thinking quite a bit about the 2004 election for a long time now (three years?). i spent the first year after the 2000 election wondering how i was going to make it another three. and now my vote is not totally decided yet. i lean heavily towards Dean, but needed some sort of test of my feeling towards his stance on “issues” and just in general his ability to lead an administration through both domestic and foreign policies. so, i decided to do an experiment.
i placed a Howard Dean button on my blog to see how i really felt about it. and after a week or so of it being posted, i had to take it down. i just didn’t feel right about it each time i saw it. and so i’ll continue my research to make sure that i don’t support Dean because he is the Democratic favorite, his sound bytes are good (as much as one reads, it IS difficult to wade through the media) and or he gets the most press. it seems sort of silly, but it worked for me. so, the research continues ….

To continue on the fascinating tip…I have the same trouble with my hair, but that won’t stop me. Going in tomorrow to have the underneath bleached platinum blonde, and the top dyed back to black (I currently have my cruddy dark dark brown natural hair color, with some silver streaks shining through).
Oh, thought of you last night, as a Nick Cave fan (best live show I’ve ever seen, btw). Found out that one of the arthouses in town was showing “Wings of Desire” on the big screen. Naturally I missed it. Sigh.

you’ll have to post a pic of the outcome!
Nick Cave [sigh]. he’s number one on my list. not that i have a list. but if it did, he’s number one. i was so disappointed that he didn’t play in Seattle last time around. i haven’t seen Wings of Desire, but i need to.
