Go See Garden State
go see Garden State and then go read Zach Braff’s blog. i had expected good things from this little movie after all of the good things i’d heard about it, but i hardly expected how subtly amazing it would be. when i left the theatre i had a feeling that i didn’t want to go away. just like anyone else, there are movies i go to for pure entertainment, others to make me think. but the main reason i go to movies is in the hopes of having a complete and total feeling washing over me from what someone else has communicated. the acting is unpretentious (something you might not expect from a first time director-actor-writer all rolled into one) and the overall feel of the film is just so all encompassing. and if you go to the website, be sure to click on the Making Garden State link at the top. the clips are fun to watch (not to mention Zach’s different loading messages.
all i can say is, go see it. no, really.

I very much want to see it, but between the little man and the husband’s totally messed up schedule, the only time I can really go out and do anything is on Friday nights…after 9pm…and flying solo. Guess that’s not so bad, but I hate paying full price for movies.
