Gazing At The Sky

shoegazer bands are near and dear to my heart. one of the bands at the top of the heap for me is Slowdive. although long broken up, its members have gone on to other endeavors. Neil Halstead has a successful solo career. successful maybe not in mainstream popularity, but he definitely succeeds in making music that blends his folk influences with his own sound in an oh so lovely way.

in the in-studio interview at KEXP, Rachel Goswell (co-founder and backing member for Neil solo) said that she was in the process of completing her first solo release. and so on May 17th out comes The Sleep Shelter ep featuring two tracks from her upcoming full length Waves Are Universal on June 21st on 4ad. i’m looking forward to both and will be sure to report my findings.
