Eclecticism
some random sonic bursts for you:
working and watching The Arcade Fire live at KCRW at the same time. talk about multi-tasking. i’m watching in moderation though so as not to throw myself back in to the vicious cycle of listening to Funeral over and over again.
walked over to Tower at lunch today (sorry Sonic Boom!) in search of a better price on the John Legend CD. $18.99 seems like too much money to me and for once Tower was less expensive ($13.99!). i purchased a couple other goodies which prompted the salesperson to observe, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone buy John Legend and a Venom CD at the same time.” really? i had to pick up the John Legend because it seemed like a nice tie-in and an easy way to get this Kanye West thing off my back. i’ve been listening to The College Dropout WAY too much. i can’t help it, it’s a f*#ing great album.
apparently, i’m the last person in the world to know that Dave Navarro keeps a blog. i’ve spent lots of time learning bits of info i never needed to know. par example: did you know that Dave’s favorite song from The Cure is The Kiss because of “… Lots and lots of wah…”? i bet you didn’t. well, unless you’ve been reading his site … which you probably have since i’m the last to know.
damnit! i knew there was something i was forgetting at the store (without my list, i’m like a blank page). i meant to pickup the new Graham Coxon which i’ve heard is quite good. some of his other stuff is just too much for me. too much of what? i don’t know … something. and i thought i was going to grab the new Doves new release Some Cities but it doesn’t come out until the 1st. more to come …
