Ce Matin

this morning Mark woke at 5am to prepare for a 8.5 mile hike he’s doing today. he was eager to try out the new pack he had bought. yesterday we had gone to the big sale at Outdoor & More where much of their stock was 20%-60% off. we usually buy our outdoor stuff at discount because it is truly so expensive. he bought a new daypack and looked at potentially overnight packs. we got rid of some of our camping gear with the intent to replace it with lightweight, more durable gear that can be easily packed.

although i’m not generally a fan of their stuff, i did pick up a nice super light rain shell that will fit nicely in my pack while using minimal room. there was much more we could have bought there but we were sticking to our budget. it would have been harder to do if we didn’t have a quick trip planned next weekend.

and so with Mark gone, i am afforded quiet time to think, drink tea and write a bit before the day gets started. i woke at about 6:00am, went for a run with Primo and here i am soaking up the morning sun on the deck. and tonight we are hitting the 2nd Annual KEXP BBQ and then dropping by a dual birthday party (one side of which is for Heff). viva le samedi!
