Small, Good Things
i like small things. this is no secret. but, i hadn’t realized how obvious i was until the checkout lady at CompUSA pointed it out. it’s all because i was buying the Kensington Pocketmouse SE. it’s small and blue and much more satisfying to my small hands than a big old mouse. of course, it helps that it’s cute. although i do like the trackpad on my Powerbook, the fact is sometimes i want to use a mouse. this mouse is small enough that it can be stuffed into my bag w/o any unsightly bulges (don’t you hate those?). i had bought an Apple optical mouse when they had first been released and while i liked it, it petered out after about a year usage. and, as mice go, it was pretty basic. so far, this mouse is working out perfectly and it was only $29.99.

the other small item i was purchasing is a gift for my mom (who does not have the URL to my blog). being that we had to buy her a computer to get her to use one, i am having a difficult time selling her on the idea of a digital camera. so, to try to ease her into things we bought her the HP Photo Scanner 1000. it’s tiny and very non-intimidating so as not to trigger my mother’s flight reflex. here’s to the small stuff!

Thanks to The Big White Guy for pointing this site out. Even though it is in Chinese, you just need to click the street vendor pictures on the top to see how their particular specialty is made (complete with Cantonese voice overs!). Clever and interesting.
