are you familiar with Barsuk Records? they are the Seattle based record label with a formidable list of artists like Death Cab For Cutie, The Long Winters, Rilo Kiley, Nada Surf and many more. the driving force behind this fantastic label was Barsuk himself. and sadly on April 10, 2004 he died from complications due to cancer. there’s a wonderfully written dedication to him here that is definitely worth reading. goodbye Barsuk

Barsuk Records also works with They Might Be Giants, who I adore. But ugh, I hadn’t heard the bad news about Barsuk himself. That is so sad
