Book Snob

Why do they have to change book covers when a movie is released or Oprah decides to make it famous to her legion of fans? Call me a book snob, but I detest it. Par example, East of Eden bears a wide red band with the text, “The book that brought Oprah’s Book Club back.” This makes me wonder, back from where? Barney’s?

I AGREE. I DESPISE IT! the only time i liked a book getting a new cover was “lolita”. when they reprinted to stick a ” now a major motion picture” they actually got a better cover than before. then the movie sticker went away and we now have a brilliant cover.
