are we all tourists?

…. and do we all spend our lives bouncing back and forth between desire and achievement? it’s as though it is never enough. consume. consume. consume. slightly better smelling nail polish remover. detergent that might make your whites whiter (but you’ll never know). and even though you just slaved away all week, speeding down the california coastline in your brand new convertible will make all of your problems go away (nevermind you will be giving 5 years of your life for that 1 day … and believe me, it is only one day. humans are amazingly adaptable when it comes to new toys and money).

what about the middle ground? when did the phrase ‘middle of the road’ achieve such negative conversations? what is wrong with being the center of things? why does everything have to be so extreme? (oprah will tell you, it’s not worth showing unless it’s extreme. would you care about jared if he had lost 20 pounds rather than 200?) exteme makeovers. a gigantic step backwards for everyone. we talk of women’s rights, respect and objectification that occurs in the media. and now the remedy is not to reduce and erase it, but for men to begin to objectify themselves as well (willingly). not really objectification then is it? (what are all of you women whining about? this is fun!)

don’t agree, but give it a little thought. feel something.
