Adventures In Travel
Well, we’re t minus 2 weeks and counting until we embark upon our first airplane trip with the boy. I know, I know, we should have done this sooner. But, despite my best efforts (okay, that’s a lie … I didn’t try at all) we have become those people I smugly judged as a single, unmarried girl (who could enjoy several alcoholic beverages in one sitting without needing to pass out). Yes, we are the people who never leave their baby and haven’t traveled anywhere yet! It’s not because we feel guilty or any of that such crap. It’s simply (if you place your fingers flat on your tongue, it will help suppress the gag reflex) that we like to be with this guy. Seriously. He’s got it all. He’s funny, he’s adorable, lovable and an instant cure to whatever bad thing that may happen during a normal day. We’ve been out a couple times (one time was just to pick up food, but hey, that counts!).
And now, we’re taking him all the way to Hawaii for ten days of warm, sunny weather. I’m not even sure he’ll remember what that burning orb in the sky is.At the suggestion of some of the parents in the ol’ group (no, not PEPS) I’m planning on doing my best to endear us to those seated around us right off the bat. We’ll ply them with fancy chocolates and ear plugs. How easy is it to be mean to someone who is holding a helpless baby and?Ǭ†just gave you presents? Hopefully, not so easy. Did I mention I need a break? I’m looking forward to truly dropping off of the grid. I might accidentally <strike>throw</strike> drop my phone in the ocean while I’m there. It’s possible.
For now though, I’ll spend time worrying about the flight and dreaming about being warm. And in that dream, I’ll also be pre-tanned without any post-baby wiggly-ness. Heck, I might as well be generous. I’ll throw in well rested as well!

Hawaii! Do some relaxing for me too. Also, I tagged you for a meme, details on my site, but no pressure. Only do it if you want to.

Have fun! We just went to Hawaii for Christmas and it was wonderful. Andrew slept the majority of the plane trip(s), I’m sure your little guy will be just fine.
