About

I suppose it might be appropriate to actually put something here. I always find the About Page one of the most interesting component of any website and it is the first place I visit. So, here goes…I live in Seattle with my husband, our boy and two dogs. I feel so grown up to say the word husband, it has been just over six months almost a year and a half about three years since we were married and it still makes me giggle a bit. I’m over giggling over having a husband and have moved on to being amazed by our son. Who knew someone so small could be so much fun?

I was born in Seoul, Korea but my parents are of Polish, German and Hungarian descent (must count my stepfather!). I migrated from the Great Lakes State (that would be Michigan) about 7 years almost 10 ago in search of what I had always been missing in the suburbs of Detroit.

I read voraciously but not specific to any one genre. I have trouble finding the time to read voraciously. I’ve been downgraded to reading … spottily (is that even a word?). But I still adhere to my tried and true rule. If it looks good, I am willing to give it a try. I have a 200 page rule, whereas I am committed to sticking with a book for 200 pages before deciding whether to continue on. Often times I continue on anyway out of obligation (to who?). I decided long ago I was not a fan of Hemingway. One day I thought I might give it another try after my 15 year ban. I read The Sun Also Rises and was profoundly moved by it. I decided to read For Whom The Bell Tolls. The ban has since been reinstated.

I have been on an airplane probably 100 times. To say my mother is spontaneous is an understatement. We once flew from Detroit to Los Angeles just for the day. We walked on the beach, ate dinner in Beverly Hills and came back home. If she said,”Let’s take a ride.” I could always envision the unknown in front of us as we drove. I never drink coffee on the plane. I detest the smell of jet fuel and coffee mixed together.

Music is my religion. I love music in general, but music with a darker side with well written lyrics are near and dear to my heart. The only music I really don’t listen to much is classical. I played classical music for 8 years or so competitively and now when I hear it, I hear only notes and tempos. I love so many different kinds of music but my lasting sentimental favorites are listed further down. Oh and babies LOVE Low.

I went to school for art and have always worked from that side of the brain. Imagine my surprise to find out that not only did I have a keen interest in technology, but that I might actually be good at it as a career. Having said that, I’m working on being the master of my own work life. And making that life a creative one.

My husband is my best friend. He is kind, generous and funny. He knows me like no one else in the world and accepts me for who I am completely (even when I drive him batty). He’s now also topping the list as the best father. I often tell him that his job should be to stay home and be with the boy and me all the time. He agrees. And now, we’ve made that a reality. The husband is a full-time stay-at-home-dad (or SAHD if you must). He spends his days taking excellent care of the boy and giving him something that not all boys have … a dad who is with them all day, everyday. This leaves a little less patience for the He wanted a dog that would fetch, play and be a little cheeky. And now weOf course, we still have Primo. He’s still hands down the best, smartest dog I’ve ever met. The husband wanted a second dog to keep Primo company and that is how we ended up witAlong with his trusty sidekick (or straight man, if you prefer), Penny. The dogs have learned to adapt to life with boy.

This is probably more than you ever wanted to know. But if it isn’t, let me know.
